What are Studio Spry charms made from?

Studio Spry charms are cast in a variety of metals, including Ancient Bronze, Yellow Bronze (brass), Sterling Silver, and solid gold on request (based on market price).

Ancient Bronze is a metal alloy which is comprised of copper and tin. This is a common alloy dating back thousands of years and stands the test of time for beauty and durability. Ancient Bronze charms have a vintage-like appearance and have a close resemblance to rose gold.

Yellow Bronze is more commonly known as brass, which is a metal alloy made from copper and zinc. It is also an ancient metal used for thousands of years but a newer than traditional bronze. Yellow Bronze charms have a close appearance to gold alloys, such as 10k or 14k gold.

Sterling Silver is a silver metal alloy which is 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals (mainly copper) which gives the silver increased durability.

Your charms require love and care

Studio Spry charms are heirloom quality, meaning they are made to last! However, just as everything in life, the more you care for your things, the longer you will enjoy the best version of Studio Spry charms.

Over time, the shiny luster on charms may dull or the metal will form a patina (oxidation). This is perfectly normal when jewelry is loved and worn.

How to care for Studio Spry charms

When you receive your charms, there is a polishing cloth included which you can use to restore the original shine. Simply use this cloth for at least 20 seconds (the longer the better!) across the full surface of the charm. This will remove build up and discoloration which has developed.

Further, to remove build up from wear, you can wash the charms using warm mild soapy water with a soft bristled tooth brush. Make sure to rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.

How to store your charms

In general, jewelry should be stored out of direct sunlight and away from humidity. If possible, store jewelry in clean containers or boxes, without factory chemicals.
